It may be noted that several parts of Puducherry were severely affected as the North East Monsoon intensified. The team visited low-lying areas such as Pavanar Nagar, Bhoomiyanpet and other places in the Oulgret Municipality where people  complained that they are yet to get 0free rice, sugar or Kerosene.

Narayansamy assured them that free rice would be distributed shortly and said there is no Kerosene allocation from the Centre.

People highlighted their plight because of the power cut and urged the Chief Minister to provide at least one litre of kerosene to which he  replied that  he will ask the officials to see if it was possible.

The team also vsited Pillaithottam and other areas where people told him about their grievances.

The Chief Minister said that Puducherry was not affected  because of the rain. All departments were alerted well-ahead and  sixteen teams of officials were constituted to tackle any emergency.

A review meeting of the preparedness was also conducted, he added and said if necessary, the Coast Guard would work along with the official team.
