    Staff unions petition CM to grant arrears

    The Joint Action Council of Tamil Nadu Teachers Organisations, Government Employees Organisations and Government Recognised Employees Association Federation (JACTTO-GEO-GREAF) have petitioned the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami seeking to grant arrears for the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission.

    Chennai

    The state, on October 11, announced the implementation of Pay Commission with the revision of salary, pension, and family pension with effect notionally from January 1, 2016 and with monetary benefit from October 1, 2017. The petition stated that the employees had to forego as much as 21 months’ monetary benefits because of the notional implementation clause. 

    “The deprivation of their rightful share of monetary benefits is against the principles of natural justice,” it said. The petition also drew the attention of the CM towards the enhancement of minimum wages in tune with the Centre.
