State notifies use of Aadhaar for SDRH
The state government has notified the use of Aadhaar, to avail services of the ‘State Resident Data Hub (SRDH)’ portal.
Chennai
The notification which was issued by Anandrao Vishnu Patil, commissioner of e-Governance, advised the denizens of the state to either furnish proof of possession of Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication.
Officials said it would obviate the need for the residents to approach different departments for changing or correcting demographic data individually, through synchronization of core elements of the databases like name, address, etc.
Those residents who are desirous of correcting or changing their demographic details like name, age, gender, address, etc., to avail of the services offered by various departments of the government of Tamil Nadu are required to provide their Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication and then correct their demographic details in the SRDH portal in any of the e-Seva centres, by furnishing proof of identity and proof of address. Any change or correction in the demographic details made in SRDH, shall be shared with departments mentioned hereunder, with the resident’s consent, so that the saved changes can also be carried out in the databases of the respective departments with their concurrence.
The Civil Supplies Department’s public distribution scheme card, Electoral Photo Identity card(EPIC), Transport - driving licence, Treasury and accounts department’s pension, Welfare of Differently-Abled Persons department, and other departments requiring such data for implementing their schemes would utilise this data to make necessary changes in their database.
The demographic details which can be changed or modified or edited or corrected in the SRDH portal (http://makkal.tn.gov. in) include, name as written normally (English / Tamil), age, date of birth, gender, father’s name, mother’s name, current address, permanent address, mobile number, and email address.
Apart from the said demographic details, a photo of the resident can also be updated in the SRDH portal (http:// makkal.tn.gov.in). Any resident who wants to enrol for Aadhaar may visit any Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Center available in the Taluk offices, Municipal Corporation offices, District Collectorates, Zonal offices of Chennai Corporation, Ripon Building and Ezhilgam Complex, Chennai to get enrolled for Aadhaar.
