Speaking at the MGR Centenary celebrations here, the Chief Minister dared Stalin to come out with one good solution to dengue and mosquito menace in the state before criticising the administration as dengue government. “I am sure, he cannot come out with one such good solution,” Palaniswami added.
The Chief Minister stressed that dengue is under control and the cases have been reducing gradually. “Our interventions have produced good results,” the CM claimed.
He further said that the DMK, which was then a part of the Congress-led Union government, just allowed the Cauvery water dispute to aggravate.
“They (DMK) merely kept quite when the issue of water sharing was taking place. But ‘Amma’ who was committed to do good to the people fought for establishing Cauvery Management Board and sought a solution for the dispute,” Palaniswami added.
Stating that the opposition parties have been throwing some lame charges without any proof, the Chief Minister said, the party workers are intact and working in unity and so the plans of some evil forces to destroy the party will never work out, the CM added.
Earlier, the Deputy CM O Panneerselvam, who addressed the gathering said, EPS has been leading the government on the right path with the divine guidance of MGR and Jayalalithaa.
However, in Chennai, CPI state secretary R Mutharasan on Thursday hit out at the state for declaring holiday for schools in Tiruchy during the visit of the Chief Minister and said the government had clearly violated the Madras High Court order.
