5 recruiters absolved in ‘job for judge’ scam

The five-different clerical job offers made by five private employment consultants to a sitting judge of the Madras High Court, have turned out to be owing to the handiwork of a disgruntled youth, who had forwarded the judge’s name and address to the recruitment agencies.

A division bench comprising Justice N Kirubakaran and Justice S Vaidyanathan had taken suo motu cognisance of the issue after the latter had received job offers for clerical posts.

However, the bench on pursuing the detailed enquiry report filed by the state on Friday, held that the court finds that five recruitment agencies-Volvo Industrial Recruitment, Renal Industrial Recruitment, Diamond Industrial recruitment, Air-tech Solution HRD and Reliance Industrial Recruitment- are genuine agencies and are not part of the job racket in the case on hand. But, the judge receiving the call letters was due to the act of a job aspirant Bharathiraja. He stated that he had completed Diploma in Civil Engineering and that he is an unemployed youth.

According to him, job aspirants are being duped by many recruitment agencies and since he had also been duped by one such agency and in a bid to take action against them, he collected the details of judges in the Madras High Court website and sent the details to six recruitment agencies of which five of them were arrayed as respondents in the case. It was his case that by doing so, fake recruitment agencies will be taken to task.

The bench on considering the undertaking given by Bharathiraja and taking note that there is no criminal intent in him for having indulged in such an activity, directed the CB-CID not to register a case against him.
