GO on Class 11 public exam challenged citing disparity in marks
A plea was filed in the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court challenging the Government Order (GO), which made Class 11 examination a public one. On Thursday, Judges Venugopal and Abdul Kuthus ordered notice to the Secretary and Director of School Education Department and adjourned the case to November 7.

Petitioner Ramalingam from Madurai stated that the state had issued a GO no. 50 and according to it, Class 11 exam would be a public one. Each subject has been allotted 100 marks. Out of the 100 marks, 90 marks were fixed for theory and 25 marks have been made the pass mark.Â
However, for the technical group, 25 marks were allotted for practical and that is enough for getting a pass. Students of technical group can easily score it. There is disparity in fixing the practical marks and so the GO should be scrapped, the petitioner prayed.
