Dinakaran, who returned from Tiruchy met his aunt VK Sasikala at the T Nagar residence of their relative and spoke to the media after a discussion with her. He dismissed the ministers’ speech as absurd and refused to comment on it.

Those, who are the true loyalists of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa would continue to speak with conscience, he added. Reacting to questions about the Cabinet meeting to be convened by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, he said a government, which had betrayed its own party leaders, would not come out with any decision favourable to the people. He also issued a statement asking his supporters to work for eradication of dengue and create awareness among the people on the disease.

Dinakaran said the government itself had been afflicted with dengue and how it could fight the disease. The healthcare system in the state was the best during Jayalalithaa’s regime, he said and added that the present government had ruined it.

Dinakaran asked his supporters to distribute pamphlets to the people on dengue, its symptoms, prevention and treatment. He also appealed to his followers to organise a dengue awareness camp and distribute nilavembu kudineer to the people.

    Ministers silent, Sasikala’s men upbeat

Days after talks of ‘sleeper cells,’ Ministers and ruling party functionaries switched to mute mode on the fourth day of the parole of sidelined AIADMK leader VK Sasikala on Tuesday. However, Sasikala appeared relaxed and was seen smiling during her visit to the Global Hospitals.

Asking was it necessary to attack the rival faction every day, a ruling faction functionary said, “The silence of the Ministers is due to their preoccupation with dengue control measures in their native districts. They are busy with awareness programmes and distribution of nilavembu kudineer in the districts following the instruction of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.” While the ministers were conspicuous by their silence, a relaxed and smiling Sasikala began her trip to Perumbakkam around afternoon. This time celebrations started from her T Nagar residence entrance. Pumpkins were broken in front of her vehicle as slogans hailing her rent the air. Along her route through arterial roads of T Nagar, supporters queued on either side of the road and scattered flowers on her vehicle. Her supporters were happy to see her in a relaxed frame of mind contrary to the first three days when she looked tense despite sporting a smile. One of her supporters said, “She will see extension of parole since she had achieved the purpose of her visit.” Insiders said poojas and yagnas , besides a few religious ceremonies were performed by her. Besides, the obstacles for financial resources for her faction had been removed through her suggestions to the family members. The medical, spiritual and economic purposes of her visit had been achieved and the fall out of her visit would be manifested at the right time. She also worshipped at the Varasiddhi Vinayagar temple in Kotturpuram.
