Staff of state PSUs to get 20% bonus
The announcement would pave the way for disbursal of bonus and ex-gratia to 3.69 lakh eligible employees and each of them would be entitled to a minimum bonus of Rs 8,400 up to a maximum of Rs 16,800 for the period 2016-17, a release from the Secretariat said.

Palaniswami said a bonus of 20 per cent that comprises 8.33 per cent of bonus and 11.67 per cent ex-gratia would be given to the employees of those PSUs which have reported profits.
“For those employees of PSUs which posted losses, a bonus of 10 per cent which comprises of 8.33 per cent bonus plus 1.67 per cent ex-gratia would be given. Employees of the State Electricity Board, Transport Corporations and Civil Supplies Corporation would come under the 20 per cent bracket.
Housing Board, Metro Water ‘C’ and ‘D’ section employees would be provisioned with 8.33 per cent bonus and 1.67 per cent ex-gratia, whereas, the eligible employees of the Text Book Corporation would receive 20 per cent bonus.
Employees of the co-operative societies that posted profit would receive a maximum of 20 per cent bonus on a par with the surplus funds allocated in this regard, while eligible employees of other societies would receive a minimum of 8.33 per cent bonus and 1.67 per cent ex-gratia,” the CM said.
