However, he denied that Raju could be a sleeper cell and said, the co-operative minister would certainly cooperate for the continuance of Amma government. He also hit out at sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran, who had said that Raju had spoken with conscience.

Jayakumar said, “Who is speaking about conscience. Dinakaran’s speech is like Satan quoting holy verses.” Speaking to the media, Jayakumar said, “This government should not fall in any circumstance. All the MLAs are united, since they do not want to give room to the party’s rivals.”

Citing the efforts taken by Sasikala’s family to save the life of her husband M Natarajan, Jayakumar said, similar efforts were not initiated by the family to save Jayalalithaa.

The minister also came down on the grand welcome to Sasikala, who had come out on prison. Jayakumar’s accusation on Sasikala’s family over treatment to Jayalalithaa came under sharp attack from Dinakaran supporter and Mukkulathor Pulipadai MLA Karunas, who said, Jayakumar should not speak in an opportunistic manner to remain in power.

“People don’t consider Jayakumar as a minister and they are are taking his speeches seriously. People could accept anything, but they will not pardon betrayal. Sasikala is facing betrayal from all sides,” the actor said. But, he agreed with the views of Jayakumar that Raju could not be one among the sleeper cell. Raju’s statement only showed his honesty and he could not be termed as a sleeper cell.

Karunas also criticised the stringent parole conditions for Sasikala which had barred her from meeting with the political functionaries of her outfit.
