Stalin bats for security commission

Stalin, who had made a request to this effect in the state Assembly earlier, said that state chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan should immediately constitute the commission as per the Supreme Court directive to design the policy framework for the state police force. 

Stating that the report of the commission would be tabled in the Assembly annually, which would pave way for a healthy debate on the functioning of the police force, Stalin added that the commission would have as its members the state police minister, Leader of Opposition, chairmen of TNPSC, state human rights commission, state women commission and state minorities welfare commission besides the state chief secretary and home secretary and hence it would help frame the guidelines for effective revamping of the police force. 

Stalin also, said that they also ready to move the court against the state chief secretary if she does not take appropriate action to prevent violations in the celebrations of MGR anniversary, mainly taking school children to the function in violation of the Madras HC order. Stalin said that he had learned that all schools were being asked to close in Karur on Wednesday and buses of private schools were being used for MGR anniversary celebrations there.
