Kin cry foul over newly married woman’s death

Her parents suspecting foul play lodged a complaint with the police. It is said, M Prabakaran (30) of Andipattikadi near Tirumanur in Ariyalur was in love with T Meera (23) of the same area for more than five years. 

Prabakaran’s parents arranged for his marriage with another girl. But their plans were foiled by Meera who lodged a complaint with the All women police station at Ariyalur. Police personnel arranged for their marriage and it was attended by both their parents. 

After marriage, Meera was living with her in laws at Tirupur. But on Wednesday, Meera was found unconscious and on information, Meera’s parents took her to Tiruvayaru GH for treatment. 

However, the doctors declared her brought dead. Meera’s parents lodged a complaint with Keezha Pazhur police station on Thursday. They stated that Meera could have been tortured for dowry as she had informed them about it.
