Jayalalithaa death: DMK insists on CBI probe
Reiterating their demand that only a CBI probe would unearth the truth behind former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s death, Deputy Leader of Opposition Duraimurugan, on Tuesday, said the commission of inquiry appointed by the government would only ‘write’ what the government wants to be written.

“Our demand for a CBI inquiry is correct. Doctors from London, Singapore, New Delhi and the Governor should be probed. Only the CBI can investigate them all,” Duraimurugan reiterated, a day after his party working president and Leader of Opposition MK Stalin insisted on the Centre ordering a CBI probe without further delay.
“Now, they have appointed a former HC judge. I am reminded of his name after long. I know what they will usually do. He (judge) will write (the report) accordingly,” a skeptical Duraimurugan said, adding, “They can hide the truth once or twice. They cannot hide it for long. Truth will surface.”
Asked about the statements of AIADMK Ministers, Duraimurugan sarcastically said, “The debate has been going on for a while. Now, the Ministers have joined it. Dindigul Sreenivasan has admitted that they have been lying all along.”Asserting that Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam was duty bound to clarify on the issue as he was the chief minister then, the DMK principal headquarters secretary said that OPS was silent. At least, the incumbent CM (Edappadi K Palaniswami) should have explained his cabinet colleague’s remarks, but he also keeps quiet. “It is an admission,” he added.
