Stating that the commission of inquiry appointed by “horse trading” AIADMK regime would be of no use, Stalin said that there could be no doubt that only a central agency like the CBI would be appropriate agency for the job as people outside the state and country, including union ministers, London doctor, doctors from Singapore and AIIMS ought to be investigated.
Also recalling the elaborate presser of the London doctor Richard Beale after Jayalalithaa’s demise, statements of Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao after meeting the CM at Apollo and incumbent chief minister K Palaniswami and his predecessor O Panneerselvam then and finally health secretary J Radhakrishnan on her health, Stalin said the Centre should order a CBI probe without further delay if the truth behind Jayalalithaa’s death were to be revealed to the people.
PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss rejected the judicial probe and demanded that a CBI inquiry be ordered to answer the questions behind her demise. He commented that the death of the former chief minister had been turned into a controversy by her own followers.
VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan and CPI state secretary R Mutharasan too said a judicial probe would not suffice and only a CBI inquiry would bring out the truth behind the death of the former chief minister.
