Retired official held for derogatory comments against Madras HC judge on FB
The city cyber crime officials arrested a 64-year-old retired government official on Friday for his derogatory posts on Facebook posts. The arrested has been identified as Ba Subash Chandra Bose, a native of Thanjavur, now resident of New Perungalathur.

“The suspect had reportedly made offensive posts against Madras High Court Judge N Kirubakaran.
A release from the city police said that a special team had been formed following inputs that certain defamatory and derogatory posts targeting the judge.
However, the release did not reveal the contents of the postings made by Bose and the provisions invoked against the suspect. The said offensive posts as made by Subash Chandra Bose had also been withdrawn from his Facebook page.
Sources said that Bose was an inspector in the directorate of Local Fund Audit and was actively involved in the State employees’ unions. He was also an office bearer of the union when he served in Pudhukottai, and was engaged in the activities of Socialist Youth Federation of India.
As nearly 43,000 government school teachers boycotted classes recently demanding implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations and scrapping of contributory pension scheme, Justice Kirubakaran had asked whether the striking government school teachers were not ashamed of the fact that only five students from government schools made it to the MBBS course in any of the 22 government medical colleges in the state this year. This became a flash point for the online community which took on the judge in their social networking pages.
