Kamal Haasan has 3 grouses against EPS-led govt

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and veteran actor Kamal Haasan on Thursday joined hands to fight communalism and corruption amid ample indications that the latter would certainly take a political plunge, possibly in 100 days.

After their hour-long meeting that came at a time when Tamil Nadu politics is passing through a turbulent phase, Kejriwal, AAP leader and the Delhi CM, suggested that the 62-year-old multilingual star should enter politics.

Kejriwal termed the meeting as ‘excellent’ and said that the actor was one of the ‘rare’ personalities, who stuck their neck out against corruption and communalism.

The actor, interacting with the media after his meeting with the Delhi Chief Minister, said that his three biggest grouses against the ruling party were the way they mishandled agriculture, education and healthcare. “They gave away agriculture and took over liquor distribution! From there onwards, infrastructure also started suffering. Education and healthcare have also taken a backseat.”

    Being anti-Right and pro-Left

“Yes, I said saffron was not my colour. Maybe black is my colour – it stands for all colours. I’m not in favour of the Left or the Right. I represent the middle-ground. I’m against gau rakshaks – I’m more for people rakshaks. When I deny the existence of god, it’s not against any god or religion. I just say that one can’t forcibly convince people to believe in god. I have a lot of heroes in the Left. I have some fallen idols too.”

    On allies and alliances:

When asked who would be a natural ally for his party, Kamal said, “I will hold talks with any party who will help my people. I’m willing to talk to even saffron-clad people to help my people but I will not change my ideology.” Is Rahul Gandhi a people’s politician? “If Rahul Gandhi was people-centric, the people would have supported him,” he said.
