Bike-borne robbers nabbed using CCTV clip

The incident happened on September 13, when two bike-borne robbers had robbed a 10-sovereign’s gold chain from a woman, Saravanalatha, who was alone in her house at Balabagya nagar in Tirunelveli. 

When police checked the CCTV footage in the area, they managed to get the images of the robbers and after validating it with the victim, police circulated the photo to all the police stations in Tirunelveli and in neighbouring districts. 

When the photo reached Thoothukudi police, they started investigating about the identification of the robbers and found their identity. The robber who was riding the bike was identified as Selvam (28), from Postal and Telephone Colony in Thoothukudi, and pillion rider was identified as Vijay (36), also from Postal and Telephone colony at Thoothukudi. After identifying them, they were arrested.
