DMK suspects EPS may advance floor test; calls for MLAs’ meet
Principal opposition party DMK suspects that the ruling AIADMK has planned to create a greater Constitutional crisis in the state this time.

Sources in Anna Arivalayam, said the party has summoned all its MLAs for an emergency meeting on Tuesday evening, suggesting that EPS regime has planned to hold the floor test on Thursday.
A senior DMK leader unwilling to be named said, “Originally they had planned to hold the floor test sometime next week, but now they intend to preempt. We have reliably learnt that they have planned to hold the floor test on Thursday.”
Curiously, the court could be the only hurdle standing between the government and the disqualified 18 dissident AIADMK MLAs. Opposition DMK suspects that a desperate EPS regime could even defy the court.
“They (ruling dispensation) have even considered daring the court, should it set aside the disqualification order of MLAs on Tuesday itself, thereby creating a Constitutional crisis. It would buy them time to sustain the government,” the DMK leader said. It was there that the DMK hopes that court would be their saviour as much as it is to the disqualified MLAs owing allegiance to TTV Dinakaran.
“The disqualified MLAs, in all certainty, would move the High Court on Tuesday. The court should easily set aside the disqualification,” one of the senior DMK MLAs well versed in the Assembly proceedings said, adding that the government was acting in desperation and it was a matter of time before the court ended the illegal reign.
