Stay within limits, Pollachi Jayaraman tells Oppn Leader
Taking potshots at the Leader of Opposition MK Stalin, Assembly Deputy Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman advised him to get the party’s mantle first before aspiring to become an ‘instant’ Chief Minister, on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat, Jayaraman observed that they would not necessitate any action on the dissident MLAs, who are rallying with sacked AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran. Parrying questions on Dinakaran’s claim to topple the ruling government, Jayaraman, who is also the Pollachi MLA, maintained that they have necessary numbers. Asked if they are for a floor test to prove the same, Jayaraman retorted that there was no need for it since they had already proven their majority. The Deputy Speaker downplayed the dissent as an intra-family affair and it has no bearing on their ‘majority’ in the House.
Referring to switching of sides by MLA (Cumbum) STK Jakkaiyan, Jayaraman said they would come back when there is a crisis. “Why would we take action if they come back to us?” he wondered. “We will handle our family issue. Let Stalin worry about his party first. He need not poke his nose into our party affairs,” he added.
Jayaraman wondered as to why the DMK working president could not realise his dream of becoming the party chief for so long, and rebuffed Stalin for his remarks on CM Edappadi K Palaniswami’s integrity last week.
“He can keep dreaming, but it will not fructify,” he said.
Jayaraman reeled out a list of issues during the previous DMK regime when it had only 96 legislators in the House, and asked where was Stalin during the crisis his government was embroiled with.
