DMK flays bid to make H Raja as Scouts head
DMK working president M K Stalin has condemned the reported attempts made by the ruling AIADMK to appoint BJP national secretary H Raja the head of scouts in the state.
Chennai
Condemning the reported move, Stalin, in a statement, said the BJP regime at the Centre had unleashed central agencies like CBI and I-T on AIADMK ministers and supported the minority EPS regime only to secure posts for BJP leaders in Tamil Nadu. Alleging it was amply clear that the BJP was defending the minority EPS regime only to secure posts for its leaders, the DMK working president said the secret ploy to unleash I-T and CBI on AIADMK ministers to secure posts for BJP leaders has been exposed now.Â
The BJP has demonstrated that it was a partner to the corrupt practices of the AIADMK regime. Claiming that school education minister K A Sengottaiyan had intimidated his department officials to vote for Raja after a retired officer had refused to pull out of the scout election race, the DMK working president said the Centre was illegally extending all possible cooperation to the EPS regime through the union home ministry and Raj Bhavan to fetch posts for BJP leaders in the state.Â
The Leader of Opposition further raised suspicion that Raja had met chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami here last week only in connection with his appointment as head of scouts, which would be used by the BJP to further its saffron agenda in Tamil Nadu.
