    Dinakaran loyalist alleges death threat, goes to cops

    Manamadurai MLA, Mariappan Kennedy, who had sided with his party Deputy General Secretary, TTV Dinakaran, had received a death threat, on Friday. Following his complaint, Manamadurai Police have registered a case and investigating the matter.

    Police sources said that the office of Manamadurai MLA had received a letter in which it was mentioned that Mariappan Kennedy’s family would be murdered as he sided with Dinakaran.

    The letter also stated, “All the MLAs should support either Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami or Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam. If the MLA refused, he along with his entire family would be murdered.”

    It was also mentioned that a sum of Rs 10 crore was given to each of the MLAs and they should not switch their loyalty to others. Also, the MLA should bring his supporters to Sri Varu marriage hall.

    The letter also threatened that Dinakaran and his family would be attacked on September 12, the day AIADMK general council meeting was scheduled by EPS-OPS camp.

    Following the death threat, Vijayakumar, PA to MLA, had submitted a complaint to Manamadurai Police.

    Meanwhile, AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran on Saturday relieved MLA S K T Jakkaiyan of his post as party organising secretary two days after he switched loyalty to Chief Minister Palaniswami’s camp.
