Minority govt should not talk about policy: Stalin
Leader of Opposition MK Stalin has urged Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s government not to take any policy decision till it proves its majority in the House.

Remarking that such a policy decision taken by the government without a majority would be unconstitutional, Stalin wanted the state chief secretary not to extend cooperation for such policy decisions or support the government on that count.
Recalling the reported submission of the Advocate General in Madras High Court on Tuesday that the state government does not need the support of all AIADMK MLAs and a few party legislators were not supporting the government, the Leader of Opposition said the AG’s submission could not be brushed aside and it has been admitted even before the HC that EPS government does not have a majority in the House and hence it was the Governor who should immediately order the CM to prove his majority in the House.
Citing media reports claiming that only 109 MLAs had participated in the legislature party meeting convened by Palaniswami, the DMK working president said that it was amply clear that the government was continuing without the requisite support of 118 MLAs and the prolonged silence of the BJP regime at the Centre and TN Governor was not only unconstitutional but also makes a mockery of Assembly democracy.
Stalin condemns journalist’s murder
Referring to journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder in Bengaluru on Tuesday, Stalin, condemn the brutal act. “Shocking that Indian journalists are being increasingly targeted by right wing groups. I appeal to the police to arrest the assailants and curb this menace of strangulating freedom of press,” he said.
