CM Palaniswami meet AIADMK legislators

According to sources, Mr Palaniswami met the MLAs in batches (district-wise) and senior Ministers were present. The meeting comes a day after the Chief Minister urged AIADMK members at a meeting at Vandalur to stay united.

Meanwhile, Revenue Minister RB Udhayakumar released a CD containing former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's comemnts about VK Sasikala's family.

He said a few people are trying to confuse the cadres and are planning to start a fight among brothers.

The Minister further said that those who were sidelined by Jayalalithaa are now planning to take over the party for selfish reasons. However Mr Palaniswami was loyal to the Jayalalithaa and the party should not be destroyed for the benefit of a few individuals. 'Amma was having a lot of trust on Palaniswami,' he said.

Responding to this, sidelined leader, TTV Dinakaran supporter Thanga Tamilselvan said that Udhayakumar is known for making contradictory statements.

'Earlier he was supporting to make Sasikala as the Chief Minister, now he is in the Palaniswami camp. The general body meeting called for by the EPS camp will not control us,' he further said.

In a related development Minister D Jayakumar said that the frequent visits of the Ministers to Delhi are for the welfare of the people in the State.

He said that the party will accept the 20 legislators supporting Dinakaran only if they leave him.

Meanwhile, the Minsiters who were camped in Delhi for the past few days and met heads of the Centre returned to Chennai yesterday, while School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan today went to the capital and met Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
