Opposition to apprise President of crisis in the state
Leader of Opposition MK Stalin on Tuesday said they would meet and apprise President Ram Nath Kovind later this month of the prevailing political crisis in the state.

Asked about DMK’s future course of action in the backdrop of Tamil Nadu Governor not acting on the representation of dissenting AIADMK MLAs on withdrawing their support to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Stalin said, “Not only DMK Parliamentarians, even members of Congress, CPI, CPM and IUML have sought appointment to appeal to the President on the issue. We have received information that appointment would be granted on August 31, but the time is yet to be confirmed.Â
Parliamentarians from the state would brief the President about the political crisis in Tamil Nadu.Â
On the Assembly privilege committee issuing notices to 21 DMK MLAs for breach of privilege, Stalin said they were exploring legal remedy.
