Spate of murders in central districts in Tamil Nadu

It is said, Manikandan (30) of Cauvery Nagar in Woraiyur, a notorious rowdy, had quarrelled with Nallathambi (25) recently. On Sunday, Manikandan along with a group of men went to meet Nallathambi, and attempted to assault him. But, Nallathambi attacked Manikandan, killing him on the spot. Thillai Nagar police registered a case and arrested Nallathambi. 

An unidentified man was found dead near Sendurai on Monday with injuries, possibly due to stoning. The person was found dead with injuries on his face and body in Karaiyan Kudikaadu in Sendurai Taluk in Ariyalur district around 6 am on Monday. The Sendurai police retrieved the body and sent it to Ariyalur GH. Police suspect that the person was beaten to death by stoning. A case has been registered by Sendurai police. 

In Kumbakonam, there was a quarrel between Selvaraj (60) of Viruthachalam who has been staying in the house of his friend Kasinathan (55), under the influence of alcohol. Kasinathan stabbed Selvaraj in which the latter died on the spot. 

While in Thiruneelakudi in Thanjavur, a 40 year old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances.  Meantime, 28-year-old Karthi, of Thirunageswaram, a worker in a scrap dealer was found dead in a suspicious manner.
