Wishing that the factions of the AIADMK unite for the welfare of the people and fulfill the assurances given by the late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Karunas, leader of Mukkulathor Puli Padai and an ally of the ruling party, said here on Sunday that only by doing so, the party can pay a fitting tribute to the late leader.

Stating that he has not changed his stand on preferring to maintain distance as an ally of the AIADMK by not talking much on the ruling party’s intra-party politics, Karunas, was however, all praise for VK Sasikala and TTV Dinakaran.
“Amma (Jayalalithaa) gave recognition for me and my party. But it was strongly backed by Chinnamma (Sasikala),” he said. The MLA went on to say that Sasikala identified the two chief ministers (O Panneerselvam and Edappadi K Palaniswami) for the party and people of Tamil Nadu in the absence of Jayalalithaa. “It is an undeniable open truth,” he added. He said that he has been avoiding the media on this subject.
Stating that he was the first to meet Sasikala at the Bengaluru prison, he said that he had not met Dinakaran so far, as he was not invited. “The support that he (TTV) had at the MGR centenary celebrations at Melur in Madurai showed that people have hope in him as the future of the party,” he added.
