Addressing the media here, Radhakrishnan said that BJP is a party that is working towards the welfare of the fishermen and for the last three years it has been working on a special scheme to encourage fishermen to go for deep sea fishing on an outlay of Rs 1,500 crore. Training would also be given to the fishermen for deep sea fishing, he added.

When asked, if the BJP is working from behind to split the AIADMK, he replied that the Dravidian major was a 40-year-old party and the BJP never intended to split it. “But, the BJP will always be trying to ascertain its position in the state,” he said.

Radhakrishnan also said that only if the Dravidian parties are ousted from the state, there will be development and the BJP will always be working towards it.
