    Two more succumb to dengue in Coimbatore

    Two more dengue deaths were reported in the government hospital, where several cases have been reported in the last three months.

    The latest victims were 26-year-old Santoshkumar,a worker in a private firm at Avanashi in Tirupur district and hailing from Madhya Pradesh and 32-year old Jayapriya, a city resident.

    Santhoshkumar was suffering from high fever and throat pain for the last few days. Blood samples taken by the private hospital where he was being treated tested dengue positive and he was immediately shifted to the government hospital.

    However, he died last evening without responding to treatment, hospital sources said.

    Similarly, Jayapriya, a resident of Tatabad in the city was suffering from dengue and was being treated in the special ward in the Government hospital.

    She passed away last evening, they said.

    Hospital sources said that about 50 persons are undergoing treatment in the hospital and added that about 130 patients are being treated for various types of fever.
