I have MLAs operating as sleeper cells: TTV Dinakaran

Clearly indicating that he is still capable of toppling the government anytime, AIADMK (A) deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran on Friday said that he had MLAs who operated as sleeper cells and would show the real strength when the time came.

He made the statement after visiting his aunt VK Sasikala at the Parappana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru on the occasion of her birthday.

He added that EPS announcing an inquiry commission to probe the late CM J Jayalalithaa’s death was not a setback. Stating that he visited his aunt to apprise her of the political situation in TN, Dinakaran said, “Merger of factions should be undertaken keeping in mind the wishes of party cadre and not for personal reasons.”

Referring to the split in the party after the demise of party founder MGR in 1987, Dinakaran said, “Jayalalithaa then brought back the feuding factions together as it was done naturally without any selfish intent. If the merger was undertaken to safeguard individual’s power and post, then it would not last long.” Referring to his aunt Sasikala’s incarceration, he said, “Time will prove that she is without blemish and as good as gold (patharai maathu thangam).”
