6-year-old from Kovai thrilled over CM’s praise for greeting card

“I greeted the CM by drawing a National Flag and India Map for him. I am very happy to get the greetings from the CM,” he said. The greetings had the words ‘Jai Hind Happy Independence Day Honourable Chief Minister Thiru Edappadi K Palaniswami’ on it.

Despite his busy schedule battling political crisis between the AIADMK factions, pressure from other parties in the State and frequently flying to Delhi to discuss pressing issues concerning the State with the Prime Minister and other ministers, Chief Minister (CM) Edappadi K. Palanisamy has personally thank a six-year-old boy from the city, for greeting the CM for Independence Day with his drawings. 

His father D Vidhyaprakash (45) who is into computer business and mother Suganya who is a lecturer said that they did not expect the CM to recognize their son. Srivanth’s hobby is drawing and he used to mention the name of Edappadi K Palanisamy whenever he sees him on television said his father who is affiliated to another party, which he wishes not to mention.

Talking to DT Next , Vidhyaprakash said that his elder daughter Srinithi (13) an 8th standard student guided her brother to make corrections in the drawing and encouraged him. “Then he told me that he wished to greet a political leader. So I suggested greeting the CM. Three days ago I got a call from a landline number in Chennai sating that it was from the CM’s office and the caller got some details of Srivanth and our family,” his father said.

While the officer who spoke to him assured to take the greetings to the CM’s notice, the boy’s father was clueless that the CM would be publicly thanking and greeting the lad.
