MLAs kidnapped to prevent them from attending Melur meeting: TTV Dinakaran
AIADMK Amma faction Deputy General Secretary, TTV Dinakaran, made scathing remarks on the Ministers of ruling AIADMK government by claiming that MLAs who were supporting him were kidnapped to prevent them from attending the meeting, at Melur near Madurai, on Monday.
Chennai
Addressing a tumultuous crowd Dinakaran said that the first meeting of centenary function of former Chief Minister, MG Ramachandran, held at Madurai zone has lot of significance. In 1972 when MGR was expelled from DMK due to treachery MGR formed the new party ADMK and in six months won a by-election at Dindigul, which comes under Madurai region.Â
He also said that many of the serving MLAs were once identified by him but now they act against him. Even the party cadres were not given permission to attend the meeting. The vehicles were not given passes and the members of Transport Union were threatened for loss of job if they attend his meeting.Â
Some of the MLAs in the Madurai region who were his supporters did not attend the meeting as they were kidnapped to Chennai. Without naming State Revenue Minister, RB Udayakumar, he said that the Minister had kidnapped an MLA from Madurai.Â
Though the MLAs who were threatened by the Ministers were physically absent they were all mentally present in the meeting. Many Ministers are of the fear that if MLAs were allowed for the meeting the ruling government would collapse.Â
If party General Secretary, VK Sasikala, would have intended to bring their family members into power she would have done by making her Chief Minister on December 5, immediately after the death of former Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa. Their family is not after power and their aim is to continue the ambitions of MGR and Jayalalithaa in the state.Â
Ministers should stop indulging in activities like kidnapping and should focus on constructive work. Only then they would be able to meet the people in 2019 Lok Sabha election. Dinakaran also advised the ruling state government to work according to the wishes of the party cadres to emerge successful in the future.Â
Speaking about former Chief Minister, O Panneerselvam, and his camp he said that when Jayalalithaa was at hospital Panneerselvam was at power and had met her at the hospital. But after he was sacked from the post of Chief Minister he had demanded Judicial Inquiry into the death of Jayalalithaa.Â
Dinakaran said that he had addressed the media on February 21 by saying that they are ready for judicial inquiry. Even now they affirm that they are ready for Judicial Inquiry. The Judicial Inquiry should be setup and only then the real culprit would be known to the people and party cadres said Dinakaran.
