AIADMK, DMK vote share intact: Vaiko
Accepting the fact that his party had gone deep down in the state because of opting out from contesting in the elections, MDMK general secretary Vaiko stressed here on Saturday that both the AIADMK and DMK vote banks were still intact and no force could damage the Dravidian movement at any cost.

Speaking to reporters prior to the executive committee meeting of the party here, Vaiko pointed out that the Centre has been playing with the life of the people of Tamil Nadu by bringing in various anti-people projects. He alleged that the BJP-led Union government has been planning to take control of the state. He cautioned, “Tamil Nadu does not end only with the AIADMK government and its Ministers. It is a state with 7.5 crore people and they (Centre) have to face a series of non-violent protests.” Vaiko said that the strategies of the protests would be announced in the party’s state conference in Thanjavur on Septermber 15 (Anna’s birth anniversary).
Attacking the Centre of taking all sort of steps to destroy Dravidian movement in the state, Vaiko said, “I agree, we (MDMK) have gone beyond zero, but both AIADMK and DMK have a remarkable vote bank and they are still intact. No force can invade the political arena in the state with an objective of destructing Dravidian movement.”
Stating that the political situation in the state at present is not good, Vaiko said that all parties have a responsibility towards safeguarding the future generation and MDMK would certainly do it.
