Another petition has been moved seeking to direct the Centre to appoint a judicial commission headed by a retired HC judge assisted by two leading doctors to ascertain the real cause of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s death.
The first bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M Sundar, before whom the plea came up for hearing, directed it to be linked with the pending three petitions and posted the case for further hearing to October 23.
The petitioner S A Miyajan of Ayyanavaram had contended that the death is mysterious and there appears to be negligence and the real cause cannot be ascertained based on the available hospital records. He also sought the court to direct the Centre to make a local inspection by exhuming Jayalalithaa’s body from its burial place on the Marina.
