Two held under POCSO in Puducherry

Police said a fifteenyear-old girl was sexually abused by Naveen of  Vambakeerappalayam here on the pretext of love. When this act was repeated, neighbours approached the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). When the CWC officials came to the house of the victim, her mother who is completely aware of the sexual assault, did  not allow them to counsel the girl.

The officials then along with the police counselled the girl. Following a complaint, Odensaalai police registered a case under POCSO and arrested Naveen.

In the other case, 19-year-old Rajesh Kumar  was arrested and lodged in prison for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.

Police said the girl’s mother was a domestic maid in Singapore and father a labourer. When her mother came to India last time, she asked the girl to marry Rajesh  Kumar but the girl refused. He compelled her to drink a juice laced with a drug. When the girl fainted after drinking it, he allegedly raped her and videographed it. 

He blackmailed her into marrying him. Rajesh Kumar harassed her after marriage and unable to bear the torture, the girl came to her grandmother’s house. When her mother took her to the CWC for counselling, it came to know that Rajesh Kumar had raped her before marriage.The CWC lodged a complaint and  arrested him.
