Two Class 10 girls found dead on railway track
Two class 10 girls from a government higher secondary school were found dead on railway tracks along Vaiyyampatti. Suspecting foul play, relatives resorted to a road block and demanded a detailed investigation here on Thursday.

It is said, the girls V Selvi (15) of Vaiyyampatti and R Rathidevi (15) of Saralapatti in Vaiyyampatti, were said to be close friends and were studying at the Vaiyyampatti government higher secondary school. Both had not returned home after school on Wednesday.Â
Their parents searched for them but in vain. Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, public found the bodies of the girls strewn along the railway tracks at Edaikattanur, 500 m away from their school. Their school bags were also found close to the tracks.
On information, the railway police led by the Superintendent of Police Z Annie Vijaya rushed to the spot and conducted an inquiry. They sent the bodies to the Tiruchy GH for post mortem.
Meanwhile, public informed the railway police that the school Head master Thangavel had collected a letter from their bags. Immediately, the railway police collected the letter from him. The letter had names of two boys who had reportedly teased the duo continuously.
In the meantime, the relatives of both the girls reached the spot and staged a demonstration demanding the arrest of the headmaster and the two boys whose names were mentioned in the letter. Subsequently, the trio were taken to the Vaiyyampatti police station for interrogation. The railway police have registered a case of suspicious death.
