Is DMK planning to fund Rajinikanth’s fan clubs?

Functionaries of Rajini fan clubs in the state would not be cash-strapped for long courtesy the party district secretaries, who were understood by Anna Arivalayam to take “good care” of the Rajini fan clubs members, party sources confided. A source close to the both Rajini fan clubs and DMK said the district functionaries have also been asked entertain Rajini fans should them approach them for assistance of any form. 

“DMK’s logic is simple. The target now is ruling AIADMK. It does not matter if Rajini makes his political debut because the functionaries would go easy on the DMK if they are kept in good humour. Should the superstar choose not to enter politics, DMK would be the natural choice of dispirited Rajini fan club functionaries. They would at least support the DMK indirectly,” remarked the source close to the DMK high command. 

Similarly, influential members of the DMK first family have been in constant touch with Kamal of late. Even for the Murasoli platinum anniversary, the original idea was to hold the function at Anna Arivalayam, but it was after a key member of Stalin’s family suggested a function at a neutral venue, the party is now considering a function at a neutral venue so that it would not discourage them. 

Significantly, Stalin, who invited over phone, had also got two key family members and a close confidant to personally invite Kamal and Rajini for the celebrations.
