Chaos continues over MBBS admissions in Tamil Nadu

Unsure of what step to take next, medical aspirants and their parents are frustrated, stating that the chaos owing to the NEET this year, have been creating problems from the beginning. 

Aakash (name changed) had cleared NEET but as there was no clarity regarding medical admissions, he began experiencing bouts of anger and had to be taken to a counsellor. “We were told that he is under too much stress. We have decided to let him take a break and try for a seat next year,” said his mother B Parvathy.

There are many who are planning to change their course of study, while some have become too upset and have lost interest and plan to take a year’s break before trying again. 

Stating that Tamil Nadu has been merely prolonging the struggles faced by students, Bala Manikandan from Cuddalore said, “My parents are tired of the NEET drama, and want me to let go of my MBBS dreams, and opt for something like Biotechnology or even take to Siddha instead.” 

“Since day one, the state government has been giving us false hopes that we would be exempted from the Common Entrance Test. Though we did continue our preparations for the test, we did not do so with complete interest as we thought that the state would be exempted,” said Surya from Tambaram, who failed to clear the exam.
