CM Palaniswami announces solatium to families of ten people killed in bus-mini van smash
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami announced an assistance of Rs one lakh to the families of ten people, who were killed in a bus-mini van collision at Vallam in Thanjavur district last night.

In a statement, he also announced an assistance of Rs 50,000 each to 23 injured who were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
He said the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC), which was proceeding to Thanjavur from Trichy collided with the mini-van carrying steel rods.
The protruding steel rods pierced through the right side of the bus after it rammed into a truck.
While five passengers from the bus and the driver of the mini-lorry were killed on the spot, two others died on way to the hospital.
Mr Palaniswami said two others died after they failed to respond to the treatment.
Expressing grief and deep anguish over their deaths, the Chief Minister also offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
He also directed the district administration and the hospital authorities to provide the best of treatment to all the injured and wished them speedy recovery.
While announcing financial assistance to the families of the deceased and also the injured, Mr Palaniswami said he has deputed Agriculture Minister R Duraikannu and Transport Minister M R Vijayabaskar to meet the families of the deceased and console them.
He also directed the Ministers to visit the hospital and ensure that best of treatment were given to all the injured.
