Siva was invited as the special guest at a National Level Seminar on ‘Discussions, Interaction and Literature On Gender Studies’ named ‘DIALOGS:2017’ by APC Mahalaxmi College for Women. Siva spoke on the topic ‘On the road to Transgender Rights:Take of Two Bills’. Siva said that ever since the BJP government had taken charge, a large number of fishermen have been arrested and nothing has been done to contain it. Fishermen were also attacked repeatedly and hence the issue should be raised in the Parliament.

According to reports, Sri Lankan government has planned to levy exorbitant fine for those found fishing in Sri Lankan waters, he said. This is a serious issue and the Central government should hold talks with Sri Lankan government to stop them from passing the bill which allowed the authorities to impose heavy fine on fishermen, said Siva.
