Amma canteen waste water raises a stink in Rameswaram park

Not only this, waste water from the Amma canteen is also let directly into a dry well here, adding to the woes of the public. Ramamoorthy, a Hindu Munnani functionary, demanded the municipality to spruce up the park as it has become unusable. Srinivasan, a BJP functionary, pointed out that the maintenance of the park is poor. 

“As the well in the park is dry, waste water from Amma canteen is let directly into it. Officials should take steps to clean the park immediately,” he said. An official from the engineering department of Rameswaram municipality agreed the park was being misused. He said that he would take up the issue to the Commissioner who was on an official tour. He also assured that immediate steps would be taken to clean the park.
