Minister bats for new fish auction hall

Jayakumar who also holds the Fisheries portfolio, made this assertion while replying to the apprehensions raised by Tiruvottiyur MLA KPP Samy who also observed that the fishermen were forced to set shops at both locations fearing the loss of business. 

“The Kasimedu fishing harbour’s recently built auction yard is more than 2.5 times bigger than the previous yard. It is built at Rs 12 crore. The yard is only 50 m away from the old yard. The fears were artificially manufactured for personal gains by a few, and the state would deal with them appropriately,” Jayakumar observed.
