Pondy Congress asks Muslims to boycott Raj Nivas Iftaar

The Congress asked the Muslims to boycott the event to condemn the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, which is functioning against the Muslim community. In a statement here, Congress minority wing vice-president Sayyed Ahamed said that the communal politics of the BJP is high after the UP Assembly elections and the party leaders come out in the open against the minorities and Dalits. 

The government had introduced a bill against consumption of beef and meat of camel since it is mainly consumed by Muslims, Christians and Dalits. The speech of BJP leader H Raja that those eating biriyani in the house of a Muslim is not a Hindu will spoil the prevailing harmony, he said. All concerned should boycott the party being hosted by Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, who is an active member of the BJP, he said.
