I cleared files in three days, says O Panneerselvam in House

The reply from OPS came amid the DMK legislators seeking an explanation in the lag of rolling out the Special Public Distribution (PDS) scheme. A mention by Food Minister R Kamaraj over pending files as among the reasons for delay was flagged by DMK leader Duraimurugan, who wondered as to which faction Kamaraj belongs to as he faults OPS. 

As Kamaraj continued his reply, DMK MLA EV Velu, who raised the original issue intervened seeking a clarity by recalling that the Ministers had blamed OPS for the delay in a scheme earlier in March in a similar fashion. As Speaker P Dhanapal allowed, OPS registered his reaction that the inordinate delay could not be attributed to the pending files. 

“When I was the chief minister, I never had any files pending on my table. Any file that makes it to my table will be cleared within three days,” OPS told the House.
