Junior lawyers should be well versed in English and they should not restrain themselves from learning the common language, said Madras High Court Judge N Seshasayee, here on Saturday.
Madurai
Delivering his address at the graduation day function of Madurai Government Law College, Seshasayee said that the young lawyers should be ready to practise law, both in Tamil and English. Pointing out the area in which young lawyers should improve, he said that - many of them were not able to argue effectively in English or Tamil. He also said that Tamil culture is known for its hospitality and lawyers here should not restrain themselves from learning English.
In the convocation function, 11 Master of Law(ML) graduates, 300 Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BABL) graduates and 257 BA LLB graduates received their degree certificates. This was the first graduation event organised by the college directly, as the graduates were given certificates at the university in the previous years.Â
