Amma Master Health Check-up facility, a huge hit

Till date, over 16,000 people availed of the services provided under three packages namely Gold, Diamond and Platinum. The services fetched a revenue of Rs 3.6 crore to the GH. This summer, the patronage for the services peaked and the number of people availing of the check-ups has been on the upswing. “The drastic rise in the numbers is due to the increase in awareness. 

Those who have benefited from the facilities, tend to talk about the services, which have encouraged others to avail of the same,” said Resident Medical Officer Dr Elango. 

With the cost ranging from Rs 1,000 for the Gold package to Rs 3,000 for the Platinum package, the scheme has attracted people from all walks of life, who cannot afford going to private hospitals for the same tests.  

“In addition to the awareness created through word of mouth, the website and other information online have been attracting a large number of people from across the state to approach the hospital to avail of the facilities. 

Also, it is evident that people are more health conscious now – as they do not wait till they fall ill, but prefer to undergo regular screening,” said Dean of the Hospital Dr Narayana Babu. 

“The fact that the numbers are so high within one year is a positive sign. The revenue from the facility will go towards buying state-of-the-art facilities for the centre itself,” he added. 

The Amma Gold package includes complete Haemogram, blood sugar, lipid profile, liver function test, blood grouping and typing, ECG, X-Ray chest, USG abdomen and pap smear. 

The Amma Diamond package includes all the above with an addition of echocardiogram, prostate specific antigen and thyroid profile, while the Amma Platinum package is a combination of the Amma Gold and Amma Diamond packages, in addition to digital mammogram for women above the age of 35, dexa scan and bone profile.
