    Election Commission to launch special drive to enrol eligible voters

    The Election Commission of India will conduct a special month-long voter enrolment drive in July for the first voters to maximise the number of registered eligible voters.

    The campaign titled ‘No voters to be left behind’ will also concentrate on making changes in the electoral roll. Targeting the first-time voters who fall in the 18-19 years age group, the ECI will “use this period for continuous updation to maximize young voters’ enrolment all lover the nation,” said an official press release.

    Necessary forms can be submitted to electoral registration officers in person or through post or they can be submitted online at www. elections.tn.gov.in or at the e-seva centres, it added. 

    Special campaigns will also be organized between July 9 and 23 when special camps would be conducted at each polling station where booth level officials present will ensure supply and receipt of filled in forms, it said. The drive will also ensure that names of dead voters are removed from the rolls for which data on such deaths would be collected from local body authorities, it added. 

    Chief Election Officer will provide State Call Centre (SCC) and District Contact Centres (DCC) for the citizen services to felicitate the form submission at free of cost.
