BJP asks Stalin to tender apology to PM
Talking to reporters here to mark the BJP government’s three-year rule at the Centre, Raja said, “The DMK leader should apologise to Modi for making such baseless and irresponsible accusations…”
Chennai
Taking strong exception to DMK working president MK Stalin’s remarks that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was indulging in ‘katta panchayat’ (kangaroo court) between the two factions of the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, BJP National Secretary H Raja on Friday came down heavily on him and demanded an apology.
Talking to reporters here to mark the BJP government’s three-year rule at the Centre, Raja said, “The DMK leader should apologise to Modi for making such baseless and irresponsible accusations…”
He further said that Stalin had been nurturing the dream of becoming the Chief Minister for some time. “Since it could not materialise, he has been making such unwarranted comments against the Prime Minister.” He said it is time that he (Stalin) apologised to the Prime Minister. It may be recalled that Stalin, of late, was highly critical of the Prime Minister saying he was meeting the leaders of the warring AIADMK factions, but was not granting an audience to meet him.
He also made critical remarks after the Prime Minister did not meet the farmers, who had staged an agitation in New Delhi for more than 40 days to press their demands.
