TN CM reviews drought relief measures
The chief minister directed officials to expedite subsidy schemes for farmers, covering those left out.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswamy  today reviewed drought relief measures and drinking water supply initiatives with seven district collectors.
Palaniswamy reviewed the measures with the collectors of Salem, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Villupuram, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur and Madurai through video conference from here, an official release said.
He reviewed the various drought mitigation measures, drinking water supply and desilting of water bodies such as lakes, it said.
The chief minister directed officials to expedite subsidy schemes for farmers, covering those left out.
He also asked the collectors and other officials to work on "war footing" to ensure supply of drinking water, it said.
Senior state ministers K A Sengottaiyan and C Srinivasan and Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan were among those present during the review meeting.
Meanwhile, the chief minister flagged off 25 vehicles to be used in the '108' free ambulance service.
