Conduct fresh NEET demands Doctors’ Association
Members of Doctors’ Association for Social Equality on Wednesday demanded the central government to conduct fresh National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET) examinations and cancel the one conducted on May 7. The group alleges that the questions in English and Hindi question papers were different from that of vernacular languages.

“The NEET question paper was available in 10 different languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati and Tamil. Questions in Guajarati, English and Hindi were easier compared to Bengali and Tamil. This might lead to a situation where students from other states will have a better chance of being admitted to TN colleges,” said Dr GR Ravindranath, General Secretary of Doctors’ Association for Social Equality (DASE).
“The question paper was based on the CBSE syllabus of class 12. The state board students were obviously at a disadvantage and they found it difficult to crack the Physics paper. Therefore, the entire process has been unfair to them,” pointed out Ravindranath. His opinion was seconded by many students, parents and medical professionals.
“The students were already under so much pressure. The strict dress code regulations and frisking added to the stress. Students coming from the districts came a day in advance to reach the examination centre as early as 7 am. Added to this they also had to undergo the ordeal. All this affected their performance in the examination,” said Ravindranath.
