Thanjai RDO’s jeep attached for non-payment of relief

It is said, the state government acquired land from A Britto Xavier and seven others of Tiruchy Road in Thanjavur in the year 1979 and an arrear to the compensation to the extent of Rs 2.99 lakh was to be paid by an order of the Principal Sub-Court dated November 29, 2000.  

However, the sum was not paid by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Thanjavur, who was the land acquisition authority. The court recently issued orders to attach the movable properties of the office of the Revenue Divisional Office, which was on Tuesday executed by the officials of the Thanjavur court. The officials took away the jeep of the RDO and parked it in the court premises.
