O Panneerselvam refuses to comment on photo threat
Former chief minister O Panneerselvam on Wednesday downplayed the threat of Karnataka state secretary of AIADMK (Amma) on the release the photos of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital. He refused to reply to the questions posed by media persons on the issue.

He was in Thoothukudi to attend the marriage of MP Jayasingh Thyagaraj’s son. When asked about the statement of Pugazhendi, Panneerselvam said, “There is no need for me to reply to his threats.” He further continued his speech by requesting both the state and Union government to initiate steps to distribute the announced drought assistance to the farmers in the state.
However, he stressed on his demand for a CBI inquiry into the death of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa. “There is no change in my stand,” he added. When asked about his silence on the issue when he was the chief minister, OPS replied, “I went by the report of the doctors and I blindly trusted them.”
He further stated that he had not met Jayalalithaa even once during the 72 days of her treatment at the hospital and he came to know about her condition only through the statements of the party spokesperson. “I had no idea about her health condition,” rued OPS When asked about the fate of the team formed to hold merger talks, he refused to reply.
